Jenny Karl started in the beauty industry at just 17 in her home state of New Jersey. She worked with beauty brands Garden Botanika and MAC while balancing a freelance makeup artist positions in New York City and New Jersey and Philadelphia throughout her college career. After an almost 10-year career on the East Coast, she moved west to Los Angeles, the hub of celebrity culture and glamour.

Jenny Karl’s career has flourished in the city of angels. Jenny owns and operates her own agency Jenny Karl Hair and Makeup with a team of over 14 professionals working alongside her. The agency boasts a crew of amazing and highly trained hair and makeup artists specializing in Airbrush Foundation, Print, Film, Television, Beauty, Fashion, Special Event, Men’s and Ethnic hair and makeup. Jenny is also a correspondent for DivaVillage.com and LA2DAY.com, as well as a host for a makeup how-to series on EHow.com. An expert in her field, Jenny is pleased to share her beauty secrets and growing team with women nationwide.

Spotlight on Beauty By Colors

Our newest e-PR client represents exactly why we created this program to begin with. To help aspiring and incredibly talented designers who normally wouldn’t have representation at this phase of their career catapult their brands with the right guidance and support behind them. This spotlight is super exciting because the designer makes shiny pretty things!! Everyone loves a good bauble and I’m talking jewelry and accessories people. Super on-trend, cool, bling bling and sunnies. You can purchase the latter at PacSun but in the meantime, let’s get into what makes the owner of Beauty by Colors so special… in her own words!

My name is Cassie, DOB: September 22, 1992; I come from Phoenix Arizona. I am a college student going into my second semester this year majoring in psychology. I've been beading for over years, I design beaded sunglasses, earrings, necklaces, watches, and bracelets. The very first time I decided to design sunglasses was back in December of 2011. I started beading on the side of glasses by April. In May I received an exciting email from PacSun asking me to design some sunglasses for their store!!! As soon as I possibly could I ran out and bought sunglasses to design for them. The first pair were the yellow Kirra RayBan inspired sunglasses.

The second pair were the "With Love From CA" shades with the same style however in black.

From there I started making special orders for people all over the country. PacSun presented my talents and art on their blogs and websites, bringing my name to the forefront of people’s attention and for that I am very grateful. I was the first to give PacSun over 5,000 likes on a picture and the first to make it to the popular page thanks to those thumbs up. Our relationship continues to grow; I’m in the middle of designing another collection for their website coming soon which is so exciting.

When I bead I think of many different styles and colors that inspire me; things I can’t find out there in today’s stores that I want to wear. Beading is my passion. In August I designed some beaded hoop earrings for Nelly Furtado. They were the perfect earrings for her new hit song "Big Hoops (the bigger the better)". That was a huge career high for me. 

Now I am thankful and very blessed to say that I am working with The Smith Group PR! I feel as if I've purchased my life with their wonderful e-PR kit:)
